Seven Health Secrets From The Hive
Seven Health Secrets from the Hive, by Charles H Robson, 4th edition (1996)
Robson is a third-generation beekeeper from Arizona, and his grandmother's German ancestors had been beekeepers since the 16th century. His seven secrets are Honey, Bee Pollen, Bee Propolis, Royal Jelly, Beeswax, Bee Venom, and Bee Brood (larvae). His book is packed with fascinating details on the history of bees and their products, the processes involved in keeping bees and harvesting the products from the hives, scientific and medical research on all aspects of the use of bee products, and anecdotal accounts of their use in treating medical problems. An interesting fact he discusses is that beekeepers tend to live extended and healthy lives, with much lower than average incidence of the serious debilitating diseases of old age such as cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's and other dementias.
